Development Approach and Strategy:

The main strategy of CISD in implementing its activities is to assist beneficiaries as the development partners or facilitators. Some working strategies of CISD are mentioned below:

a. Group Approach:

CISD strongly believes that sustainability of the organization depends on the beneficiary target groups. It implements most of its programs/projects by organizing beneficiaries in groups. Groups decide the kinds of approach and assistance they need. CISD assists them in identifying their needs. In the light of the identified needs, the organization provides the group members with technical and financial supports and services.

b. Bottom-up Approach:

CISD follows a bottom-up and participatory development approach as its working strategy. With this end in view, CISD first starts mobilizing and organizing beneficiaries through awareness building from bottom level.

c. Family Approach:

Though the women are organized as the primary beneficiaries, all members of beneficiary family have to participate in development activities. In the decision making process of the development issues of a family, CISD ensures the participation of all adult members of the family so that they can implement an activity collectively.

d. Cluster/Community Approach:
CISD follows cluster/community approach in implementing its various activities. According to the approach, working areas are divided into clusters. Cluster-based community is mobilized through development approach. All products and services are provided to the targeted people in the community. The participation of the community people is ensured by involving the local governments concerned.
